PERMANENT FULL-TIME LIVE-IN NANNY

A warm and professional family based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Live-In Nanny to provide attentive and nurturing care for their two young daughters, aged five and one. This is an excellent opportunity for a career nanny seeking a long-term position within a friendly private household.
The role will primarily be based in Birmingham and will involve a combination of shared care with the mother and sole charge when required. The family is looking for someone who can provide a calm and consistent presence for the children whilst working naturally alongside the mother and wider household team. The family is initially considering a traditional five-day working pattern of approximately 60 hours per week, although they are open to discussing a rota arrangement with the right candidate should this prove a better long-term fit for both parties.
The eldest child attends school locally and enjoys creative play, arts and crafts and outdoor activities. The youngest is a happy and content one-year-old. The nanny will take responsibility for all aspects of the children's daily routines, including nursery duties, preparing healthy meals, children's laundry and wardrobes, organising bedrooms and play areas, arranging outings and playdates, and providing stimulating, age-appropriate activities.
The eldest child's continued learning will also be supported by the nanny, with an emphasis on creating an engaging and encouraging environment around her schooling and interests. An understanding of eczema would be beneficial, as the eldest experiences occasional flare-ups.Although Birmingham will be the principal base, the family travels internationally and the nanny should be comfortable accompanying them when required, particularly during school holidays. High-standard accommodation is provided whilst travelling and overtime is paid where applicable.
The family already has additional household support in place and the successful nanny will become part of a professional and well-established household team. They are looking for someone discreet, observant and emotionally intelligent, with a warm but understated personality and a genuine understanding of professional boundaries.

Main duties of the Nanny:
- Provide warm, attentive and age-appropriate care for two young children.
- Manage the children's daily routines, including school and nursery requirements.
- Provide shared care with the mother and sole charge when required.
- Prepare healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
- Organise children's bedrooms, play areas, wardrobes and belongings.
- Manage children's laundry and clothing.
- Arrange suitable outings, activities, playdates and age-appropriate entertainment.
- Support the eldest child's learning and development alongside her schooling.
- Plan creative, educational and outdoor activities for both children.
- Take the children on local outings and assist with school-related activities as required.
- Travel internationally with the family when required.
- Communicate effectively with the parents and wider household team.
- Maintain a calm, discreet and professional approach within the household.
Requirements for this Nanny job:
- Minimum of 3 years' professional childcare experience.
- Good spoken English is essential.
- Kind, caring, patient, and nurturing approach to childcare.
- Flexible, reliable, and proactive attitude.
- Non-smoker.
- Smart, neat, and well-presented appearance.
- Experience working collaboratively within a private household is advantageous.
- At least two excellent, checkable references.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
