Perfect Household Staff is pleased to introduce a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and nurturing nanny to support a distinguished household based at Stratfield Saye Park, Reading. This is a historic residence, famously home to the Duke of Wellington, and provides a unique and inspiring environment in which to raise children. The family live in a spacious eight-bedroom estate with a dedicated children’s cottage. They employ a small team, including a housekeeper, gardener, and PA, with whom the successful nanny will work in close cooperation.
The family have two children, a toddler aged two years and a newborn, and the nanny’s primary responsibility will be the full-time care and development of the toddler. This role will suit a professional who is both caring and proactive, with the ability to create a stimulating and structured routine while supporting early years development through play, learning, and daily activities.
Stratfield Saye Park lies in the heart of the Berkshire countryside, offering a safe and peaceful setting for young children. However, the family also spend time at their London residence, and the nanny could be expected to provide care in both locations. For this reason, it is highly advantageous if the successful candidate holds a full driving licence and has access to a vehicle, ensuring ease of travel between the properties and flexibility for outings and errands.
This live-out role requires three working days per week, including weekends, with 12-hour shifts each day. Some flexibility will be appreciated, as the family may occasionally require additional hours to accommodate their schedule. The position offers a stable, long-term post within a household that values discretion, professionalism, and adaptability.
The successful candidate must have with good English communication skills, ensuring the children are raised in a bilingual environment.

Main duties of the Nanny:
- Full daily care of the two-year-old, including supervision, routines, and activities
- Encouraging learning and development through structured play and age-appropriate activities
- Meal and snack preparation for the child
- Creating and maintaining a safe, supportive, and engaging environment
- Planning and organising outings, playdates, and recreational activities
- Providing care across both the family’s countryside estate and their London property
- Communicating and coordinating with the household staff to ensure smooth family life
Requirements for this Nanny Job:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
- Fluent in English
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle (highly desirable)
