Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff is pleased to be assisting a distinguished lady in her search for a highly professional and experienced Butler / House Manager for her primary residence located in the historic city of Oxford, Oxfordshire.
The principal resides in an elegant and well-appointed private household, situated within close proximity to the city centre. Oxford, with its renowned academic institutions, fine dining, exquisite architecture, and abundance of cultural and recreational amenities, provides a delightful and inspiring environment in which to work. Discretion, loyalty, and a strong understanding of the demands associated with managing a UHNW household are paramount.
The Butler / House Manager will be entrusted with the full oversight of the household, ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning. Core responsibilities will include the delivery of traditional butler services, such as formal table setting and service, wardrobe management, and the welcoming of guests, as well as overall household coordination. The successful candidate will manage and liaise with the existing team, including the Private PA, Chef, and Cleaner, to ensure the highest standards of service and presentation are consistently achieved.
A proactive approach, excellent attention to detail, and superior organisational and communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate will possess a calm and composed demeanour, a flexible attitude, and the ability to anticipate the principal’s needs discreetly and efficiently. A pet-friendly attitude is essential, as the residence is shared with a cat and a small dog, both of whom are considered cherished members of the household.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily household operations
- Providing traditional butler service including greeting guests and serving meals
- Liaising with Private PA and Chef to ensure the principal's needs are met
- Supervising domestic staff
- Maintaining household inventories and managing stock levels
- Ensuring the home is presented to the highest standard
- Point of contact for suppliers and contractors
- Handling special requests with discretion
- Driving the principal on occasion (bonus)
Minimal Requirements:
- A minimum of five years of Butler / House Manager experience
- Checkable references from previous employers
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
