The household is home to a couple and their three teenage children, who are away at boarding school during term time, resulting in a pleasantly manageable workload that increases naturally and enjoyably during school holidays. The property is a large, beautifully maintained home with five to six bedrooms, featuring antique furniture, silverware, and fine furnishings that require specialist and considered care. The family also have a resident gardener who manages all outdoor grounds, allowing the Housekeeper to focus entirely on the interior of the home. Three beloved dogs — two Labradors and a Lucas Terrier — complete the household.

As this is a deeply rural location with no public transport, a driving licence is required. A vehicle may be provided for work use, though the family would prefer a candidate who has access to their own transport.

Accommodation: Self-contained annexe above the garage, comprising a large double bedroom, en-suite bathroom, spacious living area with kitchenette, and a separate WC; all utility costs provided

The Duties:
- Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout a large five-to-six-bedroom private residence, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, and communal areas
- Daily morning routine encompassing kitchen and bathroom cleaning, bed-making, opening windows, and general tidying
- Thorough hoovering, dusting, and mopping throughout the property on a regular rotating schedule
- Full laundry management, including washing, ironing, and the careful handling of all household linens and garments
- Grocery shopping and household supply management
- Light cooking and meal preparation — a genuine bonus and very much welcomed, though not essential
- Specialist care of antique furniture, fine furnishings, and silverware throughout the property, using correct and appropriate products and methods
- Providing attentive and caring support for the three family dogs, including feeding, walking, and general care during the family's absences
- Liaising professionally and proactively with the family regarding household matters, working with initiative and maintaining excellent communication
Minimal Requirements:
- Five or more years of private domestic Housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references from previous private household employers
- Conversational and written English
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom
- Driving licence — essential for this rural location
- Comfortable around dogs
