A private family near Newcastle is seeking a dependable Housekeeper to look after their home. The household places a very high value on privacy and confidentiality, so discretion is essential. The family is looking for the right person, someone who understands what a well-maintained home looks like and takes real pride in keeping it that way.
The home is in a fairly remote location, so a driving licence and access to a car would be a distinct advantage. The family has a small child and a small dog, so you will need to be comfortable working around both.
East Boldon is a quiet village in South Tyneside, close to the coast and just a short distance from Newcastle and Sunderland. It offers a peaceful, residential setting. This is a long-term opportunity in a private home, with flexible hours that can be shaped around what suits you, and the chance to build the house manual together with the family. The family also values the right person and wishes to build a lasting working relationship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carrying out a thorough, full top-to-bottom clean of the whole home, including bedrooms, bathrooms, the kitchen and the communal living areas
- Managing the household laundry efficiently, with a good pace and a high standard of finish
- Organising and caring for the family's wardrobes and clothing
- Maintaining the home to a consistently high standard, following the family's preferences
- Working with the family to create a house manual
- Taking on additional hours for end of tenancy cleans, when required
Requirements:
- Experience in a private household
Strong attention to detail - Fully discreet and respectful of the family's privacy
- Calm and adaptable in a busy family home with a young child and a pet
- A valid work permit
- DBS check
- Verifiable references from previous private household employment
