PERMANENT FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME HOUSEKEEPER JOB

SALARY: £20 – £25 PER HOUR GROSS
A lovely, welcoming family based just outside Newcastle in East Boldon, Tyne and Wear, a quiet and pleasant residential area on the outskirts of Newcastle. It offers a peaceful, semi-rural setting while remaining well connected to the wider Newcastle area, making it an appealing base for candidates seeking a calm working environment outside of the city centre. is looking for an experienced, professional Housekeeper to join their household on a self-employed basis. This is a private family home, and the family are genuinely down to earth, easy to work for, and looking for someone reliable and skilled to help keep their home beautifully maintained.
The household consists of two working professionals and their one-year-old child. Childcare is not part of this role, however the successful candidate should feel comfortable and relaxed around a young child in the home. There is also a small, friendly dog in the household.
There may, from time to time, be an opportunity to assist with occasional additional work at other properties connected to the family, such as end-of-tenancy cleans or light tidying at a small business premises. This would not form part of the core role, but rather an occasional extra, subject to availability and interest.
Location: Outskirts of Newcastle; East Boldon, Tyne and Wear
Position: Housekeeper, Live-Out, Self-Employed
Salary: £20 – £25 per hour gross, depending on experience
Schedule: Flexible — open to part-time (3-4 days per week) or full-time (Monday to Friday), depending on the right candidate's availability. No weekend work required.

Key Responsibilities:
- General housekeeping and daily upkeep of the property, across all three floors
- Full cleaning throughout, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and communal living areas
- Ironing and laundry management
- Occasional light meal preparation, as needed
- Keeping wardrobes, cupboards, and household storage well organised
- Maintaining a consistently high standard of tidiness and presentation throughout the home
- Being comfortable working around a young child and a small dog in the household
- Flexibility to occasionally assist with additional work at other properties connected to the family, such as end-of-tenancy cleans or light tidying at a small business premises (occasional extra, not a core part of the role)
Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a private household setting
- A valid work permit
- DBS check
- Genuine desire for a permanent position, with long-term commitment
- Strong sense of discretion and ability to maintain the family's privacy
- Driving licence is a bonus, though not essential
- Verifiable references from previous private household employment
