Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a reliable and proactive Junior Housekeeper to join a friendly family household located just outside the charming market town of Wincanton. The property is a spacious five-bedroom farmhouse situated at the end of a quiet farm track, offering privacy and a peaceful countryside setting while still being only a one-minute drive from the town centre and local amenities.
The household consists of two adult principals and their three teenage children, along with three friendly family dogs. The family are seeking a trustworthy and organised Junior Housekeeper to assist with maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of their home in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
This position can be offered on either a live-in or live-out basis and is ideally suited to a candidate looking for a small number of regular working hours each week. The role initially involves two working days per week, preferably in the mornings.
For candidates considering the live-in option, the family offer accommodation within a separate cottage located on the property at a reduced rate in exchange for the agreed weekly cleaning hours.
The cottage includes one bedroom, a living area, kitchen, and bathroom, providing comfortable and private living space. Due to the rural location of the property, access is most practical by car or bicycle.
Working as a Junior Housekeeper in this household involves carrying out simple but essential cleaning tasks to maintain the property in good order. The family are seeking someone dependable and attentive to detail who can independently complete routine cleaning duties while respecting the household’s privacy. While the position is currently focused on straightforward cleaning duties, there may be the potential for the role to develop into a broader housekeeping position in the future for the right candidate.
The role is offered on a self-employment basis.

Main duties of the Part-Time Junior Housekeeper:
- General cleaning of the farmhouse including dusting and surface cleaning
- Hoovering and maintaining floors throughout the property
- Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen area
- Maintaining a tidy and organised household environment
- Working independently to complete cleaning tasks efficiently
- Being comfortable working in a household with friendly dogs
- Maintaining discretion and professionalism within a private family home
Requirements for this Part-Time Junior Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
