Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for a professional, proactive, and initiative-driven Housekeeper to join a warm and busy private household located in Brookville near Thetford, Norfolk. The household consists of two adult principals and their three young children and is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to assist with maintaining the home to a consistently high standard. Situated within a peaceful rural setting, this position would suit an organised and independent professional who is confident working autonomously and capable of taking ownership of the smooth day-to-day presentation of the home. The property also has a friendly small dog, therefore the successful candidate must be genuinely pet friendly and comfortable working around animals.
This is a permanent, live-out, part-time Housekeeper position offering approximately 12 working hours per week across two to three working days. Due to the rural location of the property and limited public transport options within the area, an own car is essential for this role. The schedule offers flexibility regarding start times, making it suitable for a professional Housekeeper seeking adaptable part-time hours within a long-term private household position. Working as a Housekeeper within this home involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and household presentation while supporting the smooth running of the family home in a discreet and professional manner.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household includes all general housekeeping duties such as detailed cleaning, tidying, organising wardrobes and kitchen cupboards, laundry, ironing, changing beds, and scheduled deep cleaning throughout the property. Additional responsibilities include washing windows, maintaining bathrooms and bedrooms to a high standard, and ensuring the home remains organised and well presented at all times. The role also requires careful handling and maintenance of delicate household surfaces including wooden floors and solid stone kitchen worktops. Although cooking is not a regular requirement, occasional preparation of simple family-style meals may be requested from time to time. Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Scheduled deep cleaning of all household areas to a consistently high standard
- Laundry, ironing, linen care, and wardrobe organisation
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Organising kitchen cupboards, storage areas, and household spaces
- Cleaning bathrooms, bedrooms, and all living areas throughout the property
- Washing windows and maintaining immaculate household presentation
- Care and maintenance of delicate household surfaces including wooden floors and solid stone worktops
- Tidying and maintaining household organisation on a daily basis
- Monitoring general household presentation and cleanliness standards throughout the home
- Occasional preparation of simple family-style meals when required
- Working independently and proactively within a busy family home
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Own car is essential
