The role is live-out, making it an ideal opportunity for experienced domestic professionals residing in or commuting to central London.

The principal residence is a grand and beautifully maintained apartment located on the prestigious Charles Street in Mayfair, interconnecting with a second apartment within the same building. The household belongs to a distinguished private family, who divide their time between London and their overseas residences. The Mayfair estate is a true reflection of refined taste, housing a remarkable collection of antiques, silverware, and fine art pieces that require the most attentive and knowledgeable care. The surrounding area is amongst the most coveted in London, nestled between Hyde Park, Berkeley Square, and the world-renowned boutiques of Bond Street and Mount Street — a truly exceptional setting in which to build a long-term career.

The role demands an unwavering commitment to excellence, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to adapt seamlessly between the demands of a quiet household and the pace of an active family residence. Day-to-day responsibilities within such an environment typically encompass the full spectrum of housekeeping duties — from deep cleaning, laundry, and linen management to the specialist care of antiques, silverware, and luxury surfaces. When the family is in residence, the role evolves to include front-of-house support, table setting, serving at formal and informal meals, and out-serving as required. Discretion, professionalism, and the ability to work to the highest standards are essential qualities in any candidate considered for a household of this calibre.

• Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and impeccable presentation throughout both apartments, including all bedrooms, bathrooms, reception rooms, and communal areas
  
• Carrying out thorough daily and deep-cleaning routines using appropriate products and methods suited to the surfaces and materials present throughout the property
  
• Specialist care and maintenance of antiques, silverware, fine art, and luxury decorative pieces, ensuring all items are handled, cleaned, and stored with the utmost knowledge and care
  
• Laundering, pressing, and ironing household linens, bedding, and garments to an immaculate standard
  
• Making and turning down beds to a five-star standard, including full linen changes as required
  
• Assisting with front-of-house duties during periods of family residence, including formal and informal table setting, serving at lunch and dinner, and out-serving as required
  
• Working cooperatively and harmoniously alongside seasonal household staff during the family's period of residence
  
• Supporting property organisation, restocking, and preparation during the family's absence, including assisting with refurbishment and redecoration projects as directed
  
• Liaising professionally and consistently with the House Manager, adhering to all household standards, protocols, and schedules
  
• Maintaining a thoroughly professional and well-presented appearance, in keeping with the high standards of the household
  
• Being flexible and accommodating in relation to split shift arrangements and evolving household needs during the seasonal calendar
  

• Three or more years of private household experience 
  
• Two excellent, checkable references from previous private household principals
  
• Conversational English
  
• Valid UK working permit / right to work in the United Kingdom
  
• Valid DBS certificate
  
• Professionally presented appearance
