A private family based in South West London is seeking an experienced and reliable Part-Time Housekeeper to maintain their family home. The household has a relaxed, informal atmosphere, and the family is looking for an organised professional with excellent attention to detail who can take initiative and maintain consistent standards of cleanliness and presentation.
The property is a spacious family home arranged over three floors. The position involves general housekeeping, regular cleaning and maintaining an organised living environment, with particular emphasis on daily laundry, ironing and clothing care. The successful Housekeeper will be expected to recognise what needs attention, manage the established household routines and work independently without requiring constant instruction.
The position is located in South West London and offers a regular Monday-to-Friday morning schedule. With an 8am start, it would particularly suit a professional who can travel reliably to this part of London and appreciates having a consistent working pattern with afternoons free.
As the family has young children, laundry and wardrobe organisation are important aspects of the role. The children are generally at school or nursery during working hours, allowing the Housekeeper to concentrate on their responsibilities. This is strictly a housekeeping position, with no childcare, cooking or food preparation required. Driving, pet care and travelling with the family are also not part of the role.

Duties and Responsibilities
- General housekeeping and cleaning throughout the property, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living areas.
- Maintaining floors and household surfaces, alongside regular deep cleaning of designated areas on a rotational basis.
- Managing daily laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, folding and putting clothing away.
- Caring for household linen, including regular changes of bed linen and towels.
- Maintaining organised wardrobes, cupboards, drawers and storage areas, including seasonal clothing organisation.
- Monitoring and organising housekeeping supplies and identifying items requiring replenishment.
- Taking initiative in prioritising daily responsibilities and maintaining consistent housekeeping standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous professional housekeeping experience within a private household.
- Strong laundry, ironing and garment care skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage an established cleaning routine.
- Reliability, punctuality and respect for household privacy.
- Good communicative English is essential
- Confidence working in a multi-storey property involving regular use of stairs.
- Verifiable references from previous employers.
- DBS certificate or willingness to complete an appropriate DBS check.
