PERMANENT PART-TIME LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER JOB

SALARY: £20 - £25 GROSS PER HOUR
A quiet, calm household belonging to a couple currently based in a beautifully renovated historical property in Kensington, a really nice part of London with lovely old houses, with a bit of a village feel even though you're only minutes from the centre of town. It's easy to get to from most parts of West London, and it's just a pleasant, calm sort of area to be working in day to day. There are no children in the home. The couple have two dogs, a Labrador and a Golden Retriever.
The family previously used a cleaning service but found the standard of work inconsistent, and are now looking for a genuinely experienced, detail-oriented private Housekeeper.
The family is looking for someone calm, focused and genuinely present while working, rather than rushed or distracted. They value someone who takes real pride and ownership in their work, is highly detail-oriented, and follows sensible hygiene practices. They are looking for someone experienced working independently within a private home, rather than as part of a large household staff team.
Location: Kensington, London
Position: Part-Time Live-out Housekeeper
Working Days/Hours: 2 to 3 days a week, 16 to 24 hours per week (may extend to 3 days if comfortable assisting with the dogs)
Hourly Rate: £20 to £25 gross per hour, depending on experience
Employment Basis: Self-Employed
Language: English or Russian
Driving: Not required
Start Date: As soon as possible, for the right candidate
Main Duties
- Thorough, detail-oriented cleaning throughout the property, with particular focus on the kitchen and any surfaces that come into contact with water
- Careful attention to all visible and exposed surfaces
- Folding and organising laundry and linens neatly and consistently
- General upkeep of a recently renovated home, taking care to avoid marking walls or surfaces
- Pet care for two dogs, including a degree of comfort and trust around animals; assisting with simple meal preparation for the dogs would be a bonus and could extend the role to three days a week
- Use of eco-conscious, low-chemical cleaning products where possible (the family primarily uses water and vinegar, dish soap, glass cleaner and toilet cleaner; no strong chemical floor products, due to the dogs)
Requirements
- A minimum of five years' private household experience
- Comfortable and confident around dogs, with no allergies
- Genuinely detail-oriented, calm and focused working style
- English and Russian language skills welcomed
- DBS check, right to work in the UK, and traceable references
