Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a professional and experienced Part-Time Housekeeper to join a private household based in South Kensington, Central London. The household consists of two adults, with one principal residing at the property on a daily basis. The principals are seeking a cheerful, reliable and proactive individual who can take initiative, work independently and maintain their home to a consistently high standard. This is a sole-charge position with no other staff employed, making it well suited to a confident and trustworthy Housekeeper.
This is a live-out position located in one of London’s most prestigious and well-connected residential areas. South Kensington offers excellent local amenities, beautiful architecture and outstanding public transport links, including Underground and bus services, making the property easily accessible by public transport. This role is ideal for a Housekeeper seeking a part-time position with straightforward commuting arrangements.
Working as a Housekeeper in this private household requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a flexible mindset. The role focuses on general housekeeping duties, including cleaning, tidying and light laundry. Not all rooms require cleaning on a weekly basis; therefore, regular dusting and hoovering across the property is expected, with deeper cleaning carried out during periods when the principals travel, which occurs approximately once every two months. Laundry duties are light and mainly involve bedding, with minimal clothing.
There is a Ridgeback dog in the household; however, no pet care is required, and the dog is typically outside of the property.
No cooking, travelling or childcare duties are involved. The principals are open to covering reasonable travel costs for shortlisted candidates attending face-to-face interviews. Ideally, the Housekeeper will be happy to work on a self-employed basis.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- General housekeeping duties including dusting, hoovering and maintaining cleanliness throughout the property
- Light laundry duties, primarily bedding, with minimal clothing care
- Maintaining organisation and tidiness across all commonly used areas
- Periodic deep cleaning during the principals’ monthly travel periods
- Ensuring high standards of hygiene in kitchens and bathrooms
- Taking initiative and managing the household independently
- Maintaining discretion and respecting the principals’ privacy at all times
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Comfortable working on a self-employed basis
- Conversational level of English
