Job Overview:
A warm and welcoming family based in Hampstead Town, Camden, is seeking a professional and experienced Housekeeper/Laundress to join their fully staffed household. On a day-to-day basis, three to four family members live in residence, although the household consists of five in total. The family home is a spacious seven-bedroom property spread across three floors, requiring an energetic and detail-oriented candidate who can work with initiative and independence.
Hampstead Town is one of London’s most prestigious and sought-after areas, combining historic charm with excellent amenities, green open spaces, and strong transport links into central London. It offers a pleasant and secure working environment with easy access to shops, cafés, and services.
The household is already supported by another full-time Housekeeper, who works Wednesday to Sunday. The new Housekeeper/Laundress will cover Monday to Friday, ensuring full housekeeping support across the week. The family also employs gardeners and a chauffeur, though collaboration with these staff members will not be required.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for wardrobe management, caring for fine fabrics such as cashmere, silk, and other delicate materials. Strong laundry skills are essential, along with the ability to handle minor sewing tasks such as repairing hems and replacing buttons. The role also includes extensive packing and unpacking for the principals’ frequent travel. Light housekeeping duties are also required, including bed making, tidying kitchens, and caring for delicate surfaces such as marble, wood, and antiques. Bedding care is outsourced.
The family is offering formal employment with standard holiday entitlement, and they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper/Laundress:
- Wardrobe management and clothing care, including handling delicate fabrics such as cashmere and silk
- Laundry, ironing, and organisation of garments
- Minor sewing and mending (buttons, hems, etc.)
- Packing and unpacking for the family’s frequent travel
- Bed making and light housekeeping duties
- Tidying and cleaning kitchens
- Care of delicate surfaces, including marble, wood, and antiques
- Working in coordination with the other Housekeeper to ensure smooth household operations
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper/Laundress job:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Energetic, fit, and able to manage a large property
- Conversational level of English
