Job Overview:
A warm and friendly family in North London is seeking a part-time Junior Housekeeper for a long-term, permanent position. The role is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., totalling 18 hours per week, with a start date of 23rd February.
The Housekeeper will be responsible for the general upkeep of a four-storey private home, carrying out day-to-day housekeeping duties such as cleaning, tidying, laundry, ironing, bed making and keeping the home organised. The role is well suited to someone at a junior level who is comfortable following routine tasks and maintaining a clean and orderly household.
Very occasional cooking is required, usually once a week, to prepare a simple family meal. The household consists of two adults, three older children (aged 10, 14 and 16) and a friendly Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This is not a childcare position, and only very occasional dog walking may be requested.
The family is looking for a reliable and positive Housekeeper who can work independently, manage their time during the working hours and take a practical approach to household tasks. Good conversational English is required, and a DBS certificate is welcomed. Both self-employed and employed candidates will be considered. Live-Out Junior Housekeeper duties may include:
- General cleaning and tidying of the four-storey family home
- Keeping bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas clean and presentable
- Laundry and ironing, including making beds and changing linen
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen
- Basic care of household floors and surfaces
- Keeping the home organised and in good order
- Very occasional preparation of a simple family meal
- Very occasional walking of the family’s dog
- Managing daily tasks independently during working hours
- Letting the family know if anything needs fixing or attention
Requirements for this Part-Time Junior Housekeeper job:
- Relevant housekeeping experience
- Fluent in English
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
- DBS check
