A private family in East Finchley is seeking an experienced, reliable and hardworking Full-Time Live-Out Housekeeper to take responsibility for the upkeep of their family residence. The household consists of four family members, with no pets. The family is looking for a dedicated professional who can maintain a clean, organised and welcoming home, taking pride in their work and ensuring that all household areas are consistently well presented.
East Finchley is a pleasant residential area of North London, offering a village-like atmosphere with a good selection of local shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as nearby green spaces. The area combines a quieter residential setting with convenient access to central London, with East Finchley Underground Station providing direct connections via the Northern Line. The family previously employed a Housekeeper who worked independently and maintained the property to an excellent standard. Now that she retired after working in the household for several years, they are looking for a similarly capable professional who can take ownership of the housekeeping, manage their daily responsibilities efficiently and maintain consistently high standards without requiring constant supervision. The family values reliability, practical experience and a stable working relationship, and would ideally like to find someone who is interested in becoming a trusted and established member of the household for many years.

Position: Full-Time, Live-Out Housekeeper
Working Days: 5 days per week
Working Hours: 40 hours per week; an early start is preferred, although 9:00 am–6:00 pm is also suitable
Salary: £47840–£56160 gross per annum, depending on experience

Main duties of the Housekeeper:
- Taking responsibility for the general housekeeping and cleanliness of the entire residence, maintaining consistently high standards throughout.
- Cleaning and caring for all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms and other rooms within the property, ensuring that the home is kept clean and well presented.
- Looking after valuable furnishings, artwork, decorative pieces and high-quality finishes, using appropriate cleaning methods and products.
- Carrying out regular laundry, washing, drying, folding and ironing for the household.
- Understanding garment care requirements, reading care labels and identifying items that need to be sent for specialist dry cleaning.
- Operating household appliances, including washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers, and ensuring that laundry and kitchen duties are completed efficiently.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, dining areas and other frequently used spaces.
- Occasionally cleaning and maintaining the terrace, particularly during periods of good weather.
- Answering the door, receiving deliveries and contacting security when necessary.
- Keeping household supplies organised and following the family's established preferences for cleaning products and routines.
- Working alongside the existing gardener, property manager and maintenance professionals where necessary.
Requirements for this Housekeeper job:
- Extensive previous experience as a Housekeeper in a private household or a high-end hotel environment.
- Excellent practical cleaning, laundry and ironing skills.
- Good knowledge of fabric care, garment labels and appropriate cleaning methods.
- Experience caring for high-value interiors, furnishings and delicate finishes.
- Able to work independently, organise daily duties and maintain high standards without close supervision.
- Reliable, conscientious, mature and consistent in their approach to work.
- A stable employment history and a genuine interest in a long-term position.
- Good command of English and confident communication skills.
- Two professional references and the right to work in the UK.
