A wonderful family residing in Feniscowles, Lancashire, is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join their household on a part-time, live-out basis. The principals are a warm, open, and loving family with two children aged 14 and 12. This is a low-maintenance new-build property where the family already handles much of the day-to-day cleaning themselves, so the role focuses on maintaining high standards, meal prep support, and light childcare assistance when needed.
The family has a special dietary requirement (gluten-free, dairy-free), and the ideal candidate will be comfortable preparing meals within these guidelines. Feniscowles is conveniently located approximately 30-40 minutes by train from Manchester and about 15 minutes from Preston, making it easily accessible for professionals in the wider Lancashire area.

Working Days: 2-3 days/week (to be agreed with the candidate)
Working Hours: 12–15 hours per week
Language: Fluent English
Salary: £20-£23 per hour gross (depending on experience and responsibilities)
Location: Feniscowles, Lancashire (approximately 30-40 minutes by train from Manchester, 15 minutes from Preston)
Starting Date: As soon as possible for the right candidate
The Duties:
- General housekeeping and maintaining cleanliness throughout the property
- Making beds and ensuring bed linens are changed regularly
- Ensuring bathrooms are clean, tidy, and well-presented
- Day-to-day tidying and organisation (the property is low-maintenance and does not require heavy deep cleaning)
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation as needed
- Kitchen cleaning and tidying after meals
- Weekly meal prep: preparing meals that can be stored in the freezer for the week ahead
- Assisting with breakfast preparation, frying, and putting food out on the table
- Following the family's special dietary requirements (gluten-free, dairy-free)
- Basic kitchen organisation including slicing, chopping, and food prep support
Supporting the children when needed, as they are at school full-time
The Ideal Candidate:
- At least 3-5 years of private household experience
- Excellent checkable references from previous private household employers
- Conversational English
- Valid UK work permit
- DBS check
