Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional and experienced housekeeper to join a private household in Cranbrook, Kent. This is a temporary live‑in appointment for five working days per week, totalling 40 hours, and the family are seeking a candidate who can commence as soon as possible.
Cranbrook is a historic market town in the heart of the Kent countryside, offering a tranquil rural setting with convenient access to London and the coast. This role provides a comfortable live‑in arrangement within a well‑run family home.
The residence is a modern two‑storey barn conversion with four bedrooms. The household comprises the principal and her two teenage children, with family pets including two dogs, a cat, and four chickens. The successful candidate will maintain the smooth running of the home through meticulous housekeeping, light family cooking, and basic daily pet care.
A hands‑on approach is essential, with responsibility for daily cleaning, laundry and ironing, wardrobe care, and general household organisation. The housekeeper will assist the lady of the house with meal preparation and ensure all living areas remain clean, tidy, and guest‑ready. A driving licence is advantageous; if duties require a vehicle for errands or shopping, an automatic car will be provided.
Private accommodation is provided in the form of a separate bedroom with en‑suite bathroom, ensuring comfort and privacy.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Ensuring the home is consistently maintained to a high standard across all areas
- Daily cleaning, dusting, hoovering, mopping, and polishing
- Laundry, ironing, pressing, and wardrobe care for the family
- Bed making and weekly change of bed linen and towels
- General organisation, stock checks, and household supplies management
- Light occasional cooking and family meal preparation in support of the lady of the house
- Basic pet care including feeding, water, letting dogs out, litter checks for the cat, and routine care for chickens
- Running household errands and shopping as required (automatic car available for duties)
- Receiving deliveries and liaising with contractors or service providers as needed
- Maintaining a guest‑ready standard at all times
Requirements for this Full -Time Housekeeper job:
- Three or more years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
