Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a lovely opportunity for a professional, proactive, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join a welcoming private household in Bethersden, near Ashford, Kent. The household comprises two adults living in a beautifully renovated seven-bedroom home, with two small and friendly dogs. The principals are seeking a highly organised Housekeeper with an exceptional eye for detail, excellent standards, and a proactive approach to maintaining the home. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper who enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping a well-appointed family home immaculate and organised.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position based in the peaceful Kent countryside, with working hours on 2 full week days. Due to the rural location, a driving licence and own car are essential for this position. The role offers a consistent two-day working pattern and would suit a reliable Housekeeper looking for a long-term position within a private household. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the home to a very high standard while managing laundry and supporting the general organisation and smooth running of the property. The position is offered on a self-employed basis.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves regular cleaning and upkeep throughout the seven-bedroom property, together with laundry, ironing, folding, and putting clothes away. The Housekeeper will also assist with seasonal wardrobe rotation, including appropriate moth treatment, organise household storage, accept deliveries, and liaise with contractors when required. The two small dogs are friendly and accustomed to the household environment, although no pet care is required. The principals are looking for someone tidy, conscientious, proactive, and confident using their own initiative, with the ability to maintain excellent standards without requiring close supervision.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Regular cleaning and upkeep of the seven-bedroom family home to a very high standard
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining all household areas
- Cleaning and maintaining kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, and other household spaces
- Laundry, ironing, folding, and putting clothes away
- Seasonal wardrobe rotation
- Carrying out appropriate moth treatment as required
- Keeping wardrobes, cupboards, storage areas, and household spaces organised
- Monitoring household presentation and maintaining consistently high standards
- Accepting and organising household deliveries
- Liaising with contractors and tradespeople when required
- Reporting maintenance issues and household concerns promptly
- Working confidently around the family's two small, friendly dogs
- Working proactively and using initiative to identify tasks without constant supervision
- Maintaining a very tidy, organised, and well-presented home
- Demonstrating discretion, reliability, and professionalism at all times
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Own car is essential
