Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a lovely opportunity for a professional, reliable, and proactive Housekeeper to join a welcoming family home in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. The household comprises two adults and their four-year-old child and is looking for someone who enjoys keeping a home organised, well presented, and running smoothly. Welwyn Garden City is a pleasant and well-connected Hertfordshire town, known for its green spaces, attractive residential areas, and convenient links to London, making it a comfortable location for a long-term private household position.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position offering approximately 10 hours per week across two working days. The working days and starting times are flexible according to the successful candidate’s availability, providing a good opportunity to fit the role around an existing schedule. The family is looking for someone interested in a long-term placement who is comfortable working around a young child and would be happy to provide occasional babysitting support when the mother needs to be away. There is also potential for the position to develop into additional hours and duties next year when the family moves to a larger home.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves keeping the three-bedroom home clean, tidy, and well organised through regular weekly housekeeping and scheduled deeper cleaning. Responsibilities include general cleaning throughout the home, ironing bed linen, changing bed linen, keeping wardrobes organised, and staying on top of household organisation. The successful candidate should be comfortable around children, take initiative with day-to-day tasks, and be happy to provide occasional childcare support.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Weekly cleaning of all rooms, including hoovering, dusting, polishing, and cleaning skirting boards
- Mopping and maintaining hard floors throughout the home
- Emptying household bins and keeping everyday areas neat and presentable
- Scheduled deep cleaning of selected areas as required
- Folding and putting laundered clothes and household items away
- Ironing bed sheets
- Changing and making beds
- Keeping wardrobes organised and clothing neatly arranged
- Organising cupboards, storage areas, and general household spaces
- Keeping on top of household tidiness and ensuring the home remains well organised between visits
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household through a proactive approach
- Providing occasional babysitting by staying with the four-year-old child when the mother needs to be away
- Working comfortably around a young child and maintaining a calm, friendly approach
- Working independently and using initiative to identify routine household tasks
- Building a long-term working relationship with the family and adapting to their household needs as they develop
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
