PERMANENT PART-TIME WEEKEND HOUSEKEEPER

Salary: £18–£25 Gross per Hour, depending on experience
A private family in St Albans is looking for a dependable and experienced Part-Time Weekend Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. The household includes three children, so the family would particularly value someone who is naturally comfortable and friendly around children. The candidate must be a non-smoker and willing to work on a self-employed basis. An ASAP start is required.
The successful candidate will take care of the day-to-day upkeep of the property, with responsibilities including general cleaning, laundry, ironing, changing bed linen and keeping the household well organised. Additional duties will include window cleaning, dusting, hoovering, occasional food shopping and occasional cooking.
The family are seeking someone trustworthy and approachable who can build a good working relationship with them, while maintaining a professional and discreet manner within the home. The ideal candidate will be well organised, take pride in their work and have previous experience working for private families.
The position offers approximately 4 hours per week, with around two hours on each weekend day. The family would ideally prefer the work to be carried out in the mornings, although there is flexibility regarding the exact hours. As public transport to the property is limited, the successful candidate will need a driving licence for commuting purposes.

Main Duties of the Housekeeper:
- Taking responsibility for the regular cleaning and presentation of the family home.
- Keeping all areas neat, orderly and well maintained.
- Handling household laundry, including washing, folding and ironing.
- Changing bed linen and maintaining bedrooms to a high standard.
- Dusting and hoovering throughout the property.
- Cleaning windows when required.
- Helping to keep household items organised and in their appropriate places.
- Assisting with occasional grocery shopping.
- Preparing simple, healthy food for the family when required.
