PERMANENT PART-TIME HOUSEKEEPER

A welcoming private family based in St Albans, Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced, reliable and professional Part-Time Housekeeper to join their household on a permanent basis. The family have three children aged 5, 8 and 11, so a warm and child-friendly approach is important.
The role is focused on maintaining the family home to a high standard, ensuring that it remains clean, organised and well presented. The successful candidate will be responsible for general housekeeping, laundry, ironing, changing beds, organising the household, window cleaning, dusting and hoovering. There will also be occasional food shopping and cooking.
The family are looking for someone trustworthy, organised and professional who is easy to get along with and can become a reliable part of the household. Previous private family housekeeping experience is essential.
This is a flexible part-time position of approximately 10 hours per week, ideally worked for around two hours each morning from Monday to Friday. The family can offer some flexibility around the exact timing where required, although mornings would be preferred. Due to limited public transport access to the property, a driving licence is required primarily for commuting purposes.
The successful candidate must be a non-smoker and comfortable working on a self-employed basis. The family are looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.

Main Duties of the Housekeeper:
- Maintaining the family home to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Carrying out general housekeeping duties and keeping the household organised and tidy.
- Managing family laundry and ironing.
- Changing bed linen and ensuring bedrooms are kept clean and presentable.
- Cleaning windows as required.
- Dusting and hoovering throughout the property.
- Organising household items and maintaining a tidy and well-run home.
- Occasionally assisting with food shopping.
- Occasionally preparing simple, healthy meals for the family.
- Communicating with the family regarding household requirements and ensuring tasks are completed to a good standard.
Requirements for this Housekeeper job:
- Previous experience working as a housekeeper for private families.
- Strong housekeeping skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Reliable, trustworthy and well organised.
- Professional, discreet and respectful of the family's privacy.
