Perfect Household Staff is proud to present a fantastic opportunity for a Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper to support a warm and welcoming family residing in a beautiful five-bedroom home in St. Albans, Hertfordshire. This is a permanent, part-time position with a flexible schedule across four days per week for a total of 16 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be able to start as soon as possible.

St. Albans is a sought-after and vibrant market town, known for its rich history and proximity to green space. Located conveniently close to Harpenden, the area provides easy transport links into London and offers a peaceful yet well-connected setting ideal for professionals working in private households.

The family comprises two adults and two young children. There are also two friendly dogs — a German Shepherd and an Aussie Shepherd — as well as four ducks. Although there are no formal pet care responsibilities, the family would appreciate someone who is attentive enough to top up a water bowl if needed.

The property includes a large garden and is a lively, family-oriented household with regular entertaining — approximately every other week. The household is relaxed and friendly, and they are looking for someone who brings a hands-on attitude, uses initiative, and who interacts well with others in a kind and approachable manner.

This role is best suited to a professional Housekeeper who enjoys being part of a home environment, takes pride in high housekeeping standards, and feels confident maintaining the home to a consistently clean and welcoming condition.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:        

• General housekeeping including dusting, hoovering, and mopping
• Laundry and ironing
• Tidying of bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms, and living areas
• Cleaning and organising communal areas
• Occasional preparation for informal entertaining
• Ensuring general cleanliness of surfaces and floors
• Attending to minor household needs (e.g., topping up pet water bowls)

Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant private housekeeping experience
• Two excellent checkable references
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Fluent English
• Self-employed status
