Perfect Household Staff is proud to present a new permanent full-time Housekeeper position for a welcoming informal family household in Rickmansworth which is renowned for its beautiful waterways, including the River Colne and the Rickmansworth Aquadrome, which offers scenic walks, fishing, boating, and wildlife watching. This is a wonderful opportunity for a proactive and trustworthy professional to join a warm, respectful family with two young children and two friendly dogs in a well-kept, modern home.
The family is seeking a dedicated live-out Housekeeper to take charge of all general housekeeping duties, light meal preparation on occasions, laundry, occasional dog care, and day-to-day support in keeping the home maintained. The property is a two-storey, four-bedroom house with a large, open-plan downstairs area and four bathrooms. There are two children (aged 2 and 4) in nursery full-time and no childcare is required, but the ideal candidate must be child- and dog-friendly, non-smoking, and possess excellent initiative.
The position is offered on a live-out, full-time basis. Flexibility around occasional weekend or overnight pet care is requested, especially during family travel. In return, the family offers a kind, stable environment where a Housekeeper can feel truly valued.

Job Details:
- Working Days: Monday to Friday (5 days/week); occasional weekend flexibility appreciated
- Working Hours: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM (35 hours/week)
- Salary: £18–£20 gross per hour

- Children: 2 (ages 2 and 4) – no childcare required
- Pets: 2 dogs (Golden Retriever & Cocker Spaniel) – occasional walking and care
- Driving: Not required
- Accommodation: Live-out (possibility of live-in accommodation in future outhouse development)

Key Responsibilities:
- Full housekeeping duties, including daily tidying, hoovering, dusting, mopping and general upkeep
- Cleaning up after breakfast and dinner routines (kitchen, high-use areas)
- Maintaining bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas to a high standard
- Laundry, ironing, folding, wardrobe organisation and putting away clothes
- Light family meal prep (basic)
- General organisation of the home; using initiative to maintain neatness
- Occasional dog walking, feeding and care when needed
- Ad-hoc weekend dog sitting and property supervision during holidays (by prior arrangement)
- Supporting a smooth home environment for a busy family with two working parents
- Using household products already provided and taking note of special surface care
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience as a private Housekeeper
- Excellent checkable references
- Fluent in English
- Non-smoker
- Willingness to support with occasional travel-related duties (e.g., pet care while the family is away)
- Discreet, respectful and tidy
- Pet- and child-friendly personality; confident working alone
- Flexible, reliable and able to work without constant supervision
