Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff presents an opportunity to join a welcoming informal household in Bayford, Hertfordshire. The family is seeking a part-time, proactive and detail-oriented live-out Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their large family home. The residence spans three floors with multiple bathrooms and bedrooms, situated in a scenic and peaceful part of Hertfordshire, a picturesque county rich in history, home to the Roman city of St Albans and famous film studios like Leavesden. Bayford, a charming village, offers countryside tranquillity just outside London.
This is a permanent position offering flexibility on the working days (2 days per week, 8 hours per day), and is ideally suited to a self-motivated housekeeper who enjoys keeping things orderly and running seamlessly. The property is home to five family members, including three independent teenage children who are studying full-time, and 2 friendly labradoodles. While this role does not involve cooking or direct childcare, occasional support with light pet care will be appreciated, such as maintaining the dogs’ indoor spaces.
As a housekeeper in a private household, you will be responsible for all general cleaning duties, including hoovering, mopping, dusting, laundry, and linen changes. Regular deep cleaning is expected, although there are no delicate antiques or specialist materials to care for. You will primarily maintain 3–4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms in regular use, with occasional upkeep of additional spaces as needed. A keen eye for detail, discretion, and an ability to take initiative are essential, ensuring the home remains immaculate and well-organised without needing constant supervision.

Housekeeper Duties Will Include:
- Daily hoovering, dusting
- Weekly deep cleaning
- Changing bed linen and towels
- Laundry and ironing
- Occasional care of unused rooms
- Light pet care for two labradoodles
- Maintaining general household order and cleanliness
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in private housekeeping roles
- Excellent, checkable references
- Strong attention to detail and initiative
- Friendly, discreet, and trustworthy nature
- Conversational level of English
- UK work permit
- Driving licence is not required, but would be advantageous due to rural location
