Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, proactive, and highly organised Housekeeper to join a welcoming private household located in Burridge, near Southampton, Hampshire. The household comprises one adult principal, two children, and three small dogs living in a well-maintained six-bedroom family home. The principal is seeking a reliable Housekeeper who can become a trusted second adult within the household, taking initiative and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home. This role would suit a confident, child-friendly, and dog-friendly Housekeeper who enjoys working independently and becoming an integral part of a busy family household.
This is a permanent, full-time, live-out position offering approximately 30 hours per week across five working days. The property is located within approximately 20 minutes' walking distance of Swanwick train station, making it accessible by public transport; however, due to the rural location, an own car would be advantageous. Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves staying daily on top of things, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the six-bedroom home while supporting the principal with a variety of household tasks. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, confidence working around children, and the ability to identify tasks independently without requiring constant supervision.
Working as a Housekeeper within this household involves taking ownership of the home's presentation and organisation while supporting the family with practical day-to-day household management. The successful candidate will assist with housekeeping, laundry, basic wardrobe organisation, food deliveries, household administration, and occasional support around the children's routines. The family is looking for someone who is comfortable around children and pets, enjoys taking initiative, and can confidently liaise with contractors and report maintenance issues when required. Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Full cleaning and upkeep of a six-bedroom family home to a consistently high standard
- Daily, weekly, and scheduled deep cleaning of all household areas
- Laundry, ironing, linen care, and basic wardrobe management
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Organising cupboards, storage areas, and household spaces
- Accepting, unpacking, and organising food and household deliveries
- Packing school lunches for the children as required
- Maintaining kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas in immaculate condition
- Monitoring household supplies and ensuring storage areas remain organized
- Putting household bins out for collection and managing waste disposal routines
- Reporting maintenance issues promptly and liaising with contractors when required
- Providing occasional care and walking support for one of the family’s small dogs
- Working proactively, using initiative, and acting as a reliable adult within the household
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
