Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a highly experienced, flexible, and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join a welcoming private family estate in the beautiful village of Bibury, Gloucestershire. The household is a weekend home to two adult principals and their three children and includes a main six-bedroom house, a gym house with spa and garage and a guest house which are rented for 10-15 weeks a year. The family is seeking a reliable Housekeeper who can take pride in maintaining the homes and providing practical support to the family throughout the year. Bibury is one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque villages, surrounded by beautiful countryside and attractive local villages, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a peaceful rural setting.
This is a permanent, full-time position working four days per week, comprising three weekdays and Saturdays when the principals are in residence, for approximately 30 hours per week plus additional ad hoc hours. The position can be offered on either a formal employment or self-employed basis. Due to the rural location, a driving licence and access to a car are essential. The successful Housekeeper will ideally live locally and be comfortable with occasional additional hours when required, particularly around family gatherings, parties, guests, or rental periods. The role offers a consistent core schedule while providing opportunities for additional hours throughout the year.
Working as a Housekeeper within this household involves caring for the main residence and providing support across the estate’s rental properties, which are occupied for approximately 10–15 weeks per year. Regular responsibilities include cleaning and general household organisation, laundry and ironing, changing bed linen and towels, basic wardrobe care, keeping the fridge well stocked, and ensuring the properties are well presented. When rental properties are occupied, the Housekeeper will assist with key handovers and act as a reliable point of contact on the ground. This is a hands-on position suited to a highly experienced Housekeeper with excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and a practical approach to supporting a busy private household.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Regular housekeeping and cleaning of the six-bedroom main residence
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the home
- Supporting the upkeep of the rental properties: gym house, spa, garage and a guest house
- Caring for rental properties during their occupied periods
- Cleaning and preparing rental properties between guest stays as required
- Managing key handovers for rental properties
- Acting as the reliable point of contact on the ground when rental properties are occupied
- Liaising with companies servicing rental properties
- Laundry, ironing, folding, and putting clothing and household items away
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Basic wardrobe management and organisation
- Ensuring the family refrigerator is kept well stocked
- Organising household spaces and maintaining general tidiness
- Preparing guest bedrooms and ensuring they are welcoming and well presented
- Supporting the household around guests, family gatherings, and occasional parties when required
- Providing additional ad hoc housekeeping hours when required
- Monitoring household supplies and reporting requirements
- Working independently and using initiative within the household
- Maintaining discretion, reliability, and professional standards at all times
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Own car is essential
