PERMANENT PART-TIME LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER JOB

SALARY: £20 – £25 PER HOUR GROSS (SELF-EMPLOYED)
A lovely opportunity has arisen for a versatile Housekeeper to join a warm family home in East Sussex. This is a modern, five-bedroom property home to a family of three, with older children who visit from time to time. The family currently have cleaners in twice a week but are looking for a good Housekeeper: someone who manages their time effectively in standard cleaning to keep the home in order, staying on top of the ironing, laundry, and general day-to-day household organisation.
The family recently welcomed a young child into the family and, alongside enjoying more time at home together, are finding they need some extra support to keep the household running smoothly. They are looking for a warm, capable, and genuinely proactive Housekeeper who can work independently with minimal instruction once settled in.
This is a part-time, Monday to Friday position, with flexibility around the time of day. The family are also open and transparent about occasional periods of travel throughout the year (including extended trips), during which the successful candidate would be expected to continue their normal working pattern as agreed, or take planned time off by mutual arrangement, in line with standard practice.

The Duties:
- Housekeeping across a modern five-bedroom home, keeping the property consistently clean, tidy, and well organised
- Basic laundry management, including washing, drying, ironing, and putting clothes away
- Regular bed changes throughout the property
- General household organisation and maintaining order across all rooms
- Working proactively and independently, anticipating household needs without requiring close supervision
- Comfortable and warm around household pets
Minimal Requirements:
- Five or more years of private domestic Housekeeping experience
- DBS certificate
- Two excellent, checkable references from previous private household employers
- Conversational and written English
- Valid right to work in the United Kingdom
- Genuinely dog-friendly and comfortable around pets
- Driving License and vehicle for the work commute
