The family is looking for a professional with an excellent eye for detail who takes pride in maintaining a large six-bedroom home, ensuring that the household remains clean, organised, and comfortable for the family.
A professional housekeeper plays an important role in ensuring that a private residence is maintained to a consistently high standard. Typical responsibilities include thorough cleaning, laundry and ironing, changing and making beds, maintaining bedrooms and bathrooms, organising household supplies, and keeping the home neat and presentable. In this position, the successful housekeeper will also assist with errands, supervise household supplies, occasionally carry out delicate handwashing, and undertake seasonal wardrobe rotation. The family does not require cooking or driving, allowing the housekeeper to concentrate fully on the smooth running and presentation of the home.

This is a live-out position in the picturesque village of Swanland, within the East Riding of Yorkshire. Due to the location and the nature of the position, the successful candidate may have a full driving licence and reliable access to their own vehicle for commuting. The regular three-day schedule offers a good level of consistency for a professional seeking a long-term part-time position.
Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining the three-floor, six-bedroom family home.
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, polishing, and maintaining surfaces with appropriate cleaning techniques.
- Changing and making beds, ensuring bedrooms are fresh, organised, and well-presented.
- Managing the household laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, and folding garments and household linens.
- Carrying out occasional delicate handwashing with appropriate care for specialist fabrics.
- Supporting the seasonal rotation of the family’s wardrobes, including organising and storing clothing appropriately.
- Running occasional household errands as required.
- Monitoring household supplies and ensuring that cleaning products, laundry essentials, and other household necessities are adequately stocked.
- Identifying household maintenance or supply requirements and reporting them appropriately to the family.
- Completing all housekeeping duties independently and proactively, without the need for constant supervision.
- No cooking or driving duties are required as part of the household responsibilities.
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:
- Three or more years of private housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
