Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for a professional, detail-oriented, and reliable Housekeeper to join a warm and welcoming private household based in Steeple Morden, Cambridgeshire. The family comprises two adult principals and their two young girls, aged 4 and 1, and they maintain a well-organised and structured home environment. Located in a peaceful rural setting, the household offers a calm and pleasant working atmosphere suited to a hardworking, independent individual with strong initiative and an excellent eye for detail. The principals are seeking a proactive Housekeeper who can take ownership of maintaining the home to a consistently high standard while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household.
This is a permanent, part-time position structured across three to five working days per week, offering flexibility in how the hours are arranged, with a preference for afternoon shifts. The role is based in a countryside location; therefore, a driving licence and own car are essential due to limited public transport access. The workload is clearly structured and distributed across daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, ensuring consistency and manageability. In addition to core housekeeping duties, the role may occasionally include very basic cooking for the children, and walking a friendly Staffordshire Terrier upon request.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the home while managing tasks efficiently across the week. The role requires a hands-on and self-sufficient approach, with responsibility for keeping the property running smoothly and in excellent order. The Housekeeper will also liaise with contractors when required and ensure the home remains well-prepared for family life, balancing routine housekeeping with light, occasional additional support as needed.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining cleanliness and presentation throughout a 4-bedroom home, including daily tidying, managing the dishwasher, and handling laundry (no ironing required)
- Carrying out weekly cleaning tasks such as dusting, hoovering, mopping floors, cleaning kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, and removing cobwebs
- Performing monthly deep cleaning tasks including internal window cleaning, oven cleaning, cupboards, and upholstery care
- Making and changing beds on a fortnightly basis
- Providing occasional support with very basic cooking for children when time allows
- Walking the family dog upon request
- Liaising with and coordinating contractors
- Ensuring proper care and maintenance of wood furniture and household surfaces
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Own car is essential
- DBS check
