Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a fantastic opportunity for a professional Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper to join a warm and welcoming private family residence located in Great Shelford, just outside of Cambridge. This is a long-term, permanent position within a well-maintained four-bedroom property arranged across three floors, with an additional outbuilding comprising a gym, sauna, and guest accommodation.
The household consists of two principals and their four children aged between 4 and 13. The family is informal, friendly, and values a harmonious home environment. They are seeking a highly organised, child-friendly, and proactive Housekeeper who is comfortable working in a busy household where family members are frequently present. This role will suit a candidate who is looking for longevity and wishes to become a valued, long-term member of the household team.
The household also employs a long-standing nanny, therefore being a collaborative team player is essential. The ideal candidate will be eco-conscious, detail-oriented, and able to maintain high housekeeping standards across all areas of the home.
There is no cooking, travelling, or pet care required for this role. A driving licence is not essential but would be considered a bonus. The position is offered with formal employment and standard holiday entitlement.

Working Days: 5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
Working Hours: 30 hours per week (start time approximately between 8:30am – 9:30am, with flexibility)

Driving Licence: Not required (beneficial)
Main duties of the Housekeeper:
- Full housekeeping of a four-bedroom, three-floor private residence and additional outbuilding
- Daily cleaning and maintaining the property to a high standard
- Care and maintenance of wooden flooring throughout the home
- Laundry and ironing, including wardrobe organisation
- Bed making, linen changes, and towel replacement
- Deep cleaning when the family is away
- Running occasional household errands
- Monitoring and replenishing household supplies
- Working collaboratively with the nanny to ensure smooth household operations
Requirements for this Housekeeper job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid UK work permit
