The household comprises two adult principals who travel frequently and occasionally host guests for extended stays. This role is ideally suited to a hard-working and reliable Housekeeper who takes pride in maintaining a consistently high standard while working independently and with a strong sense of responsibility.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position based in Cambridge, a vibrant and highly desirable location known for its excellent amenities and transport connections, making it easily accessible for commuting. The role is structured across five working days per week, with approximately 20 hours in total, offering flexibility and a manageable schedule. Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves a balance of hands-on housekeeping duties and light household coordination, particularly during periods when the principals are travelling, requiring someone trustworthy and capable of taking ownership of the home in their absence.
Working as a Housekeeper in this position requires maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the property, alongside supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home. Duties include regular and deep cleaning, particularly when the principals are away, laundry and ironing with a strong focus on shirt care, basic wardrobe management, and preparing the home for guest arrivals. The role also involves key holding responsibilities, running errands, liaising with contractors, and occasional assistance with entertaining, making it well-suited to a proactive and detail-oriented professional.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout all areas of the home, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and living spaces
- Carrying out regular and occasional deep cleaning, particularly during principals’ absence
- Managing full laundry cycle, including washing, ironing (with strong shirt care), and basic mending
- Undertaking wardrobe management, including organisation and upkeep of clothing
- Preparing guest rooms to a high standard for extended stays
- Holding keys and ensuring the security and smooth running of the household during travel periods
- Running errands, including dry cleaning drop-offs and collections
- Liaising with contractors and overseeing household-related appointments
- Providing occasional support with entertaining and basic cooking if required
- Caring for marble like surfaces and ensuring appropriate maintenance of specialist materials
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
