Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for an experienced and professional Domestic Couple to join a prestigious private estate in Highmoor, near Henley-on-Thames, South Oxfordshire. This is a full-time, live-in position commencing in September and offers the opportunity to become part of a friendly, well-established household team within a beautiful country residence.
The family is seeking an additional Domestic Couple to support the smooth running of the estate alongside their existing Domestic Couple, who will remain in post. Working closely with the Estate Manager and other members of staff, the successful couple will contribute to maintaining the property to an exceptional standard whilst working within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The role will involve comprehensive housekeeping, general handyman duties, light food preparation and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the household. No gardening duties are required, as dedicated gardeners are employed to maintain the grounds. During periods when the family is in residence, a private chef is also employed, therefore cooking responsibilities will generally be limited to simple meal preparation and occasional assistance in the kitchen. The property is equipped with smart home technology, and the successful couple will receive full training on the household systems. Previous experience with smart home technology or CCTV systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
The family spends extended periods away from the property throughout the year, although the estate must always be maintained to the highest standards and ready for their return. Formal employment is offered together with standard holiday entitlement. During periods when the principals are in residence, the successful couple will be expected to work two weekends per month, with time off in lieu provided during the week.

Main duties of the Domestic Couple:
- Maintain the residence to an exceptional standard at all times.
- Complete all housekeeping duties, including cleaning, laundry, ironing and general household organisation.
- Assist one another with housekeeping and other household duties whenever required.
- Carry out light food preparation and simple home-style cooking when required.
- Assist the family's chef with basic kitchen preparation during periods when the principals are in residence.
- Carry out grocery shopping and household errands using the vehicle provided.
- Undertake general handyman duties and minor property maintenance.
- Learn and confidently operate the property's smart home systems.
- Monitor household systems and report any maintenance issues to the Estate Manager.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with the existing Domestic Couple, Estate Manager and external contractors.
- Provide occasional care for the family's friendly Labrador–Vizsla cross when required.
- Ensure the property is always presented to the highest standards and prepared for the principals' arrival.
Requirements for this Domestic Couple job:
- Previous experience working as a Domestic Couple within a private household or estate.
- Excellent housekeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Practical handyman and general property maintenance experience.
- Positive, proactive and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of an established household team.
- Willingness to learn and operate smart home technology.
- Child-friendly and pet-friendly
- Good spoken English.
- Full driving licence essential for at least one member of the couple.
- At least two excellent checkable references.
- Valid right to work in the UK.
