PERMANENT LIVE-IN FULL-TIME MANAGING COUPLE JOB
NUN MONKTON | NORTH YORKSHIRE | YO26 8EW
Salary: £100,000 - £120,000+ gross per year

Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for an experienced, entrepreneurial, and hospitality-driven Couple to take full responsibility for a magnificent privately owned country house in Nun Monkton, North Yorkshire (YO26 8EW). This remarkable eleven-bedroom estate, set within beautiful grounds with river frontage, formal gardens, a heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, and extensive entertaining spaces, is entering an exciting new chapter as an exclusive-use luxury hospitality destination.
Hosting corporate retreats, leadership offsites, family celebrations, milestone events, and private gatherings, the property offers a rare opportunity for a talented couple to establish and build the reputation of a truly outstanding country house experience from its very beginning.
This is a full-time, live-in position offering long-term stability and the opportunity to operate a prestigious hospitality business within a beautiful private estate setting. The successful couple will be provided with a private cottage on the estate, offering comfortable independent accommodation in a highly desirable rural location. The role requires only individuals with genuine hospitality credentials – experience running a restaurant or a pub and accommodation, strong commercial awareness, excellent guest service standards, and the ability to take ownership of both the guest experience and the operational success of the business. This position would suit a couple who enjoy responsibility, thrive in a hands-on environment, and are motivated by delivering exceptional standards while building a reputation that generates repeat business and outstanding guest reviews.
One partner will take responsibility for all culinary operations, serving as the resident chef and creating memorable dining experiences for guests. Responsibilities include designing seasonal menus, sourcing ingredients, preparing and delivering meals for a variety of occasions ranging from relaxed family gatherings and private celebrations to corporate retreats and smaller-scale events, managing kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring every dining experience contributes positively to the property's reputation. For larger events, celebrations, and high-volume guest numbers, professional catering services will be engaged, with the resident chef overseeing coordination, menu planning, quality control, and seamless integration with the overall guest experience. The successful candidate will also work closely with guests to accommodate dietary requirements and tailor menus to individual events and group preferences.
The second partner will lead front-of-house operations, guest relations, bookings, and overall hospitality management. Responsibilities include managing guest enquiries, reservations, occupancy, and revenue opportunities; coordinating guest arrivals and departures; overseeing housekeeping and property presentation; supervising the housekeeper and stewardess team; liaising with activity providers, suppliers, contractors, and the estate office; supporting marketing initiatives; and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the property. This partner will play a key role in delivering outstanding guest experiences, maintaining exceptional standards throughout the estate, and helping to establish the property as one of the UK's leading exclusive-use country house destinations.
