Surrounded by 150 acres of rolling Gloucestershire countryside, this impressive estate offers a peaceful yet highly professional working environment. The principals are a family with four children who spend approximately half of their time at the property. They are seeking a high standard, reliable, and long-standing domestic couple who take pride in maintaining an immaculate household and supporting a busy family lifestyle.
Working within a private estate of this scale requires a pro-active and highly organised domestic couple capable of maintaining exceptionally high standards across all areas of household management. The role will include full housekeeping of a ten-bedroom residence, detailed cleaning of marble and wood surfaces, specialist laundry, including delicate fabrics, and ensuring the estate is always presented to five-star standards.
The position also involves healthy cooking for the family, maintaining stock control, supporting childcare-related household routines, and assisting with the care of four cats and three dogs. In addition, the couple will be responsible for driving the principals and their children, liaising with gardeners, maintenance staff, and contractors, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of a large rural estate.

As this is a countryside estate, a valid driving licence is essential for both members of the domestic couple due to the requirement to support family transport and rural access.
This is a live-in position, and the successful domestic couple will be provided with excellent accommodation in a separate two-bedroom cottage on the estate grounds, offering privacy, comfort, and an ideal living arrangement for a couple with children and pets.
Main duties of the Full-Time Domestic Couple:
- Full housekeeping of a large multi-bedroom estate to a consistently high standard.
- Cleaning and maintenance of all living spaces, including specialist care for marble, wood, and high-end finishes.
- Laundry management, including delicate garments, ironing, folding, and wardrobe organisation.
- Healthy cooking and preparation of family meals, including children’s meals and occasional guests.
- Stock control and management of household supplies, ensuring the home is always fully equipped.
- Driving the principals and their children for school runs, appointments, and social commitments.
- Care and feeding of four cats and three dogs, including daily routines and welfare monitoring.
- Liaising with gardeners, maintenance personnel, and external contractors.
- Supporting the smooth running of the estate while the family is in residence or travelling.
- Ensuring the property remains secure, organised, and well-presented at all times.
- Working collaboratively to maintain long-term household consistency and structure.
Requirements for this Full-Time Domestic Couple job:
- Three or more years of private Domestic Couple experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational level of English
- Valid UK working permit
- Driving licence
