PERMANENT FULL-TIME LIVE-IN DOMESTIC COUPLE

A welcoming private household in the Lake District is seeking an experienced Domestic Couple to join their team on a long-term, live-in basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a practical, flexible, trustworthy and proactive couple who enjoy countryside living and take pride in maintaining a private home or estate.
The couple will work together across the property, with one partner taking greater responsibility for estate maintenance, gardening, security and chauffeuring, whilst the other focuses on a part time housekeeping role with duties including laundry, ironing and household organisation. Both will support each other as required.
The property includes gardens, a vegetable garden and greenhouse, and the role involves general maintenance, minor repairs, contractor coordination and ensuring the property remains secure, particularly when the principals are away. The family has four extremely friendly medium size dogs, and the successful couple should be genuinely comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with their care when required.
The successful couple will be provided with fully furnished, private accommodation on the property with a separate entrance, allowing them to enjoy their own space and privacy. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms a living room and kitchen. The family offers formal employment with standard holiday entitlement and is looking for professionals who are seeking a stable, long-term position within a welcoming private household.

Working Pattern: 5 days per week
Working Hours: 40 hours per week for the Estate Maintenance, Security & Chauffeur position; 25 hours per week for the Housekeeping position
Salary: £60,000–£65,000 gross per year

Main duties of the Domestic Couple:
- Maintain the house and grounds to a high standard.
- Carry out general property maintenance, minor repairs and routine inspections.
- Maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, vegetable garden and greenhouse.
- Operate and maintain gardening equipment and machinery.
- Coordinate contractors and report maintenance issues where required.
- Ensure the property and outbuildings remain secure, particularly when the principals are away.
- Drive the principals and their guests and maintain household vehicles.
- Complete cleaning, laundry, ironing, bed making and general housekeeping.
- Maintain kitchens, bathrooms and guest accommodation.
- Manage household supplies and assist with deliveries.
- Prepare simple meals when required.
- Assist with the care of the family's four friendly Spaniels and chickens.
- Work flexibly as a couple and support one another across household and estate duties.
Requirements for this Domestic Couple job:
- Previous private household or Domestic Couple experience preferred
- Decorative and vegetable gardening
- Full UK driving license for both
- Genuine love of animals and confidence caring for dogs and chickens
- Professional, discreet, trustworthy and dependable
- Non-smokers only
- Excellent communication skills
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Excellent checkable references
