SALARY: £40,000 TO £50,000 PER ANNUM GROSS, WITH ACCOMMODATION INCLUDED
A warm, well-established family are looking for a reliable live-in housekeeper to look after their home near Henley-on-Thames. The home belongs to a lovely couple in their late 80s who are still mobile and active. They have five adult children who visit regularly, and they enjoy going out for dinner, visiting the theatre and spending time with their family. The house is calm and easy-going, and the couple would love to have someone who simply gets on with the day and keeps everything running smoothly.
The best part of this role is the home that comes with it. You would live in your own self-contained three-bedroom cottage close to the main house, with its own bedroom, living room, kitchen and bathroom.
If you have a partner or family, they would be welcome to live there with you. The family also have a gardener who lives in another cottage on the grounds.
The role suits someone who loves the countryside and would like a peaceful place to call home.
You are the person who keeps the home calm, clean and organised, so the family can enjoy it. In this role, you will also cook simple, healthy and nutritious meals, so the family can enjoy home-cooked food every day.
Type: Full-time, live-in
Working days: Six days a week, with one day off
Working hours: 40-48 hours per week. There is a lot of downtime when the couple are out or visiting family, and you are free to organise your day.
Language: Tagalog, English
Salary: £40,000 to £50,000 per annum gross, depending on experience.
Driving Licence: A big bonus

This is a live-in position in a quiet countryside setting, so it suits someone who is happy to live outside a town. The couple spend about 3 months abroad over the winter, and you are welcome to travel with them, but this is optional and not a requirement.
Duties:
- Keeping the main home clean, tidy and well presented
- Preparing simple, healthy, nutritious meals from fresh ingredients, with no processed foods and no gourmet cooking
- Doing the household shopping, mainly online, and collecting shopping or running small errands by car
- Looking after laundry, ironing and linen
- Making beds and keeping the bedrooms and bathrooms fresh
- Using quiet periods to organise cupboards, linen and storage
- Working independently, with no micromanagement
- Travelling with the family for the winter stay, if you would like to (optional)
Specialist skills:
- Confident cooking of simple, wholesome family meals
- Good organisation and the ability to run a home without supervision
- Comfortable with online shopping and everyday technology
- Calm, discreet, respectful manner around an older couple
- Comfortable living in the countryside
- Any extra skills, such as nutrition, would be valued
Minimal requirements:
- Proven experience as a housekeeper in private households
- 2 excellent checkable references
- Good English
- UK Work Permit
- A fresh DBS check
- A full driving licence is ideal, to collect shopping and run small errands
