A private household based in Kensington, London, is searching for an experienced Russian-speaking Housekeeper to provide discreet and reliable support within a well-maintained three-bedroom apartment.
The property is situated in one of Kensington’s most established and desirable residential areas, offering excellent local amenities, convenient transport connections, and a refined residential environment. The apartment itself is arranged over one floor and is maintained to a high standard, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a reception area, kitchen, and dining space.
The principals spend part of the year in London and travel abroad for extended periods. While they are in residence, the Housekeeper will provide regular cleaning, laundry, ironing, bed-linen care, and general household organisation. During periods when the principals are away, reduced attendance will be required to keep the apartment fresh, orderly, and ready for their return.
Laundry and ironing will form an important part of the position. The successful Housekeeper shall be confident managing everyday laundering, delicate handwashing where appropriate, household linen, standard home ironing, dry-cleaning coordination, and the neat organisation and putting away of clothing and personal items. Bed linen will also require regular changing, laundering, and ironing.
The Housekeeper must have good knowledge of appropriate cleaning methods for quality residential finishes, including specialist surfaces, and must take particular care around artwork and personal belongings. Certain items within the residence require specific handling instructions, which should always be followed carefully.
The principals value discretion, respect, punctuality, and professional presentation. The successful Housekeeper shall be comfortable working within an established household routine, respecting personal boundaries, and remaining flexible when reasonable additional assistance is required. Russian is essential for communication with the principals, while good English will also be necessary when liaising with the concierge, maintenance personnel, service providers, and other professionals.
This is an excellent opportunity for a locally based Russian-speaking Housekeeper seeking a stable, long-term part-time position within a respectful private household in Kensington. There may also be scope for the appointment to develop into a more regular position in the future should the principals’ residence pattern change.

Position Details

Engagement Basis: Self-employed, with formal employment potentially open to discussion
Working Days: Two days per week while the principals are in residence; reduced attendance when they are abroad
Working Hours: Approximately 12-14 hours per week, with the precise schedule to be agreed
Preferred Start Time: Approximately 10:00–11:00 a.m.
Languages: Fluent Russian and good communicative English are essential
Dress Code: Neat and professional; separate indoor working shoes required, with apron preferable

Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintaining the apartment to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, order, and presentation
- Completing regular cleaning of bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, kitchen, and dining spaces
- Managing household laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and putting items away
- Changing, laundering, and ironing bed linen and towels as required
- Handling delicate garments and arranging dry cleaning where necessary
- Caring appropriately for hardwood floors, marble, artwork, and other quality household finishes
- Freshening infrequently used rooms and ensuring unused bathrooms remain properly maintained
- Keeping wardrobes, personal belongings, and frequently used household areas neat and organised
- Assisting with occasional shopping, local errands, travel packing, or receiving guests when requested
- Liaising appropriately with the concierge, maintenance personnel, and other service providers
- Providing occasional Russian-English communication support in practical household matters when required
- Maintaining complete discretion, confidentiality, and respect for the principals’ privacy and established household routines
Minimum Requirements
- At least three years’ professional private-household housekeeping experience
- Fluent spoken Russian and good communicative English
- Excellent general cleaning, laundry, ironing, and household-linen skills
- Experience handling delicate garments and coordinating dry cleaning
- Good knowledge of appropriate care for marble, hardwood flooring, and quality household finishes
- Exceptional attention to detail and respect for artwork, personal belongings, and household instructions
- A discreet, respectful, and professionally presented manner
- Strong reliability, punctuality, organisation, and time-management skills
- A flexible and service-minded approach, with confidence working independently and respecting personal boundaries
- Valid UK right to work, strong checkable references, and a current DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
