The principals, a couple in their 70s with an active presence in the art world, value discretion, professionalism, and impeccable standards in all aspects of their household. The successful candidate will be entrusted with ensuring their safe, punctual, and comfortable travel, primarily to and from Mayfair, while anticipating their needs and providing a seamless, first-class service. A refined approach, flexibility, and an understanding of the nuances of working within a high-net-worth household are essential.
The role is offered three days per week – Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday – from 9:00am to 6:00pm, totaling 27 hours, with occasional overtime or ad hoc weekend work as required. While the principals would ideally prefer a self-employed arrangement, they remain open to formal employment for the right candidate who demonstrates the highest standards of professionalism and discretion. This is a rare opportunity for a conscientious and committed chauffeur to work closely with a cultured, high-profile family, providing a service that goes beyond driving, within a supportive and stable household. Main duties of the Chauffeur:
- Providing safe, discreet and professional transportation for the principals, primarily between Hampstead and Mayfair
- Ensuring punctuality and flexibility in accordance with the principals’ daily schedule
- Undertaking occasional airport transfers and ad hoc journeys
- Running household-related errands as required
- Overseeing the care, cleanliness and maintenance coordination of four vehicles, including a Range Rover
- Managing the organisation and upkeep of the family garage
- Assisting the housekeeper with practical support when required (e.g. carrying groceries, helping move light furniture during deep cleaning)
- Providing occasional practical assistance to the gardener when necessary
- Supporting the principals with handling and positioning artwork, including assisting with hanging paintings where required
Requirements for this Chauffeur job:
- Minimum five years of relevant private nanny experience
- Excellent checkable references
- Fluent English
- Proven private chauffeur experience, ideally within a high-net-worth household
- Excellent knowledge of London routes, particularly Mayfair
