This is a permanent, live-out, part-time position working four afternoons per week, from 1:30 pm until 6:30 pm, totalling approximately 20 hours per week. The position is offered on a self-employed basis and combines childcare with housekeeping responsibilities, providing an enjoyable variety throughout the working day. The property is a spacious five-bedroom family home where a separate cleaner undertakes the deep cleaning, allowing the successful Nanny/Housekeeper to focus on maintaining the home's presentation, supporting the children's routines, and assisting with the smooth running of family life.
Due to the location and the requirement to complete daily school, nursery, and activity runs, a full driving licence and own car are essential.
Working as a Nanny/Housekeeper within this household involves providing attentive after-school care for the children while maintaining a well-organised and welcoming home environment. Responsibilities include completing school and nursery collections, transporting the children safely to extracurricular activities, assisting with homework, occasionally preparing healthy meals for children, and providing occasional evening babysitting. Earlier in the afternoon, the role focuses on general housekeeping duties, including laundry, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and caring for specialist household finishes such as silver, marble, stone, and wood. Main duties of the Part-Time Nanny/Housekeeper:
- Collecting the children from school and nursery each afternoon
- Ensuring the children's safety, wellbeing, and security at all times
- Driving the children safely to extracurricular activities and appointments
- Assisting with homework and supporting educational development
- Preparing healthy meals and snacks for children on ad hoc basis
- Providing ad hoc evening babysitting by prior arrangement
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and household presentation
- Managing family laundry and clothing care
- Tidying and organising family living areas and children's spaces
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household
- Caring for specialist household finishes including silver, marble, stone, and wooden surfaces
- Working alongside the family's cleaner, who is responsible for deep cleaning
- Using initiative to identify and complete household tasks independently
- Maintaining a caring, compassionate, and professional approach while building a long-term relationship with the family
Requirements for this Part-Time Nanny/Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private nanny experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- DBS check
- Driving Licence and an Own Car
