A private family based in Jersey, Channel Islands, is seeking an experienced and reliable Nanny-Housekeeper to care for their five-month-old baby and assist with light household duties. The family is open to both live-in and live-out arrangements, depending on the successful professional’s availability. The ideal candidate would be able to start as soon as possible.

The successful Nanny-Housekeeper will be primarily responsible for the baby’s daily care, including feeding, changing nappies, sterilising bottles, washing the baby’s clothes and helping to maintain a consistent routine. As the baby approaches the weaning stage, the professional may also be required to prepare simple food for him. The role will include some night-time care, with the baby spending a few nights per week in the room with a live-in professional. Following nights when the professional is responsible for the baby, the next working day will be a half day.

The household duties will be light and will include general tidying, keeping the home clean and organised, and managing the baby’s laundry. The family lives in an informal duplex apartment with two or three bedrooms. For a live-in arrangement, the professional will have a private bedroom and a separate bathroom, with food and accommodation provided. The successful professional will also be required to travel with the family.

The family is looking for a gentle, trustworthy and reliable professional who is genuinely comfortable caring for young babies. The ideal person should be patient, understanding and able to manage the demands of infant care, including crying and night waking. Previous experience with babies of a similar age, weaning and maintaining a baby’s routine is particularly important. Additional language skills would be an advantage but are not essential.

Working Days: Five days per week

Working Hours: For live-in professionals, the day generally starts around 7:30–8:00am on days involving baby care, or around 8:00–8:30am on other days. On days involving baby care, working hours may continue until approximately 6:00pm; on other days, until the baby’s bedtime at around 7:00–7:30pm. A half day follows a night when the professional is responsible for the baby. Live-out hours will depend on availability.

Salary: £57,200 – £71,500 Gross per Annum, depending on experience

Main duties of the Nanny Housekeeper:

Provide attentive and age-appropriate care for a five-month-old baby.
Feed the baby, change nappies and sterilise bottles.
Wash and care for the baby’s clothing and belongings.
Help maintain the baby’s daily routine, including sleep and feeding schedules.
Provide night-time care on agreed nights as part of a live-in arrangement.
Assist with weaning and prepare simple food for the baby as required.
Engage the baby in gentle play and age-appropriate activities.
Carry out light housekeeping, including general tidying and keeping the home clean and organised.
Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for the baby.
