The household comprises two adult principals and their two young children, including a four-week-old newborn who requires dedicated overnight care and support. The family is seeking a dependable Maternity Nanny with proven newborn experience who can provide reassurance, expert guidance, and attentive care during this important stage. There is a railway station in the Radyr area, making commuting by public transport possible, and the family is happy to arrange transfers from the station if required. Due to the location and working hours, however, applicants with their own vehicle will find commuting considerably more convenient.
This is a temporary, live-out position working approximately four nights per week on an every-other-day rota, including one weekend night, with each shift running from 7:00 pm until 7:00 am. There is strong potential for the position to be extended beyond the initial engagement, depending on the family's ongoing requirements. Working as a Maternity Nanny within this household involves providing professional overnight care for a newborn, supporting healthy sleep routines, feeding schedules, settling techniques, and offering reassurance to parents. This role would suit an experienced Maternity Nanny who is calm, knowledgeable, discreet, and confident working independently throughout the night while maintaining clear communication with the family.

Main duties of the Maternity Nanny:
- Providing professional overnight care for a four-week-old newborn
- Supporting feeding routines, including bottle feeding or assisting with breastfeeding where required
- Changing nappies and attending to all overnight hygiene needs
- Settling, soothing, and comforting the baby throughout the night
- Monitoring the baby's wellbeing and responding promptly to their needs
- Establishing healthy newborn sleep routines and overnight schedules
- Sterilising bottles and preparing feeding equipment where required
- Keeping the nursery and baby-related areas clean, organised, and well maintained
- Maintaining clear communication with the parents regarding the baby's overnight routine and wellbeing
- Providing reassurance, guidance, and practical newborn support to the family when appropriate
- Working independently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, hygiene, and newborn care
- Supporting a calm and restful overnight environment for the entire household
Requirements for this Maternity Nanny:
- Minimum of 3 years of private nanny experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Conversational level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- DBS check
