The household comprises two busy working principals and their young child, who are seeking a Housekeeper capable of taking genuine ownership of their five-bedroom, three-bathroom home while working with minimal guidance. Situated in the desirable town of Broxbourne, the property benefits from excellent transport connections, attractive green spaces, and a peaceful residential setting. The family is looking for a careful, initiative-driven professional who takes pride in maintaining a beautifully organised home and enjoys working independently.
This is a permanent, live-out, part-time position offering 12 hours per week across two to three working days, with employment commencing at the beginning of August. The property is conveniently located approximately 10 minutes' walk from Broxbourne railway station and close to local bus services, making it easily accessible by public transport. Working as a Housekeeper within this household involves maintaining consistently high housekeeping standards throughout the two-storey family home, completing all routine housekeeping duties independently, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the household. The family would also welcome occasional assistance with meal preparation, such as chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, or completing simple meal prep while the principal cooks, although this is not an essential part of the role.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves taking full responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness, presentation, and organisation of the home while ensuring it remains comfortable and welcoming at all times. Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the five-bedroom family home
- Completing scheduled deep cleaning of all household areas
- Daily tidying and maintaining household presentation
- Laundry, ironing, linen care, and clothing management
- Cleaning and caring for delicate marble surfaces
- Changing bed linen and towels as required
- Organising household areas and maintaining a tidy environment
- Taking household rubbish and recycling out as required
- Optional: occasional meal preparation, including chopping vegetables and preparing ingredients while the principal cooks
- Working proactively, independently, and using initiative without constant supervision
- Taking ownership of the household and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
