FULL-TIME LIVE-IN HOUSEKEEPER/NANNY JOB

Perfect Household Staff is pleased to present a wonderful opportunity for a dedicated and professional housekeeper/nanny to join a kind, informal family based in Skenfrith, near Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, South Wales. This is a full-time, permanent, live-in role suited to a confident and versatile candidate who enjoys both housekeeping and childcare responsibilities within a warm and respectful household.
Skenfrith is a charming rural village surrounded by rolling countryside, scenic walking routes, and historic landmarks including Skenfrith Castle and the River Monnow. Located just a short drive from the bustling market town of Abergavenny, the area offers a peaceful and picturesque lifestyle with access to local amenities and nature. This setting would particularly suit someone who enjoys a slower pace of life and values the outdoors.
The family home is a beautifully maintained, three-storey, five-bedroom residence. Private live-in accommodation is provided in a self-contained one-bedroom cottage on the grounds, offering the successful candidate comfort and full privacy. This is an informal and welcoming household with no other staff employed. The principals offer formal employment along with standard holiday entitlement (20 days plus bank holidays).
During the mornings and early afternoons, the housekeeper/nanny will focus on maintaining the household to a high standard. From 2:00 PM onwards, the nanny will care for the family's youngest child, a cheerful and healthy 3-year-old. There are no allergies or medical needs to consider. Light family cooking will be part of the role, and the family will provide guidance on household products and routines. The housekeeper/nanny should also be comfortable around two affectionate dogs – a miniature dachshund and a labradoodle.
A driving licence is essential for this role. While driving duties will be rare, the family will provide a manual car for errands or the occasional school run.

Main Duties of the Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny:
- General daily housekeeping of a five-bedroom, three-floor home
- Laundry and ironing using products and methods as specified by the principals
- Childcare for the family’s 3-year-old from 2:00 PM onwards
- Engaging the child in age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
- Basic family cooking
- Running occasional errands and rare school pick-ups
- Supporting the smooth running of the household
- Caring for and being comfortable around two family dogs (miniature dachshund and labradoodle)
Minimal Requirements for the Live-In Housekeeper/Nanny:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar private household roles
- Strong housekeeping and childcare skills
- Fluent English
- Full UK driving licence required (manual car provided as needed)
- Eligible to work in the UK
