Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an outstanding opportunity for a professional, proactive, and experienced Housekeeper/Nanny to join a warm and welcoming family based in the beautiful town of Oxted, Surrey. The household comprises two adult principals, three young children, and one friendly medium-sized dog living in a spacious seven-bedroom family home. The family is seeking a confident Housekeeper/Nanny who can take genuine ownership of the household, work independently using initiative, and become a trusted long-term member of the family. Oxted is a highly desirable Surrey town offering an excellent balance of countryside surroundings and modern amenities, with convenient rail connections to London, making the property easily accessible by public transport while still offering the charm of a peaceful family setting.
This is a permanent, full-time, live-out, position working five days per week, from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm, with full holiday entitlement and formal employment. Working as a Housekeeper/Nanny within this household involves maintaining the smooth day-to-day running of a large family home while providing occasional after-school support for the children. The role combines high-quality housekeeping with childcare, including preparing healthy dairy-free evening meals for the children, supporting meal preparation during school holidays, and ensuring the children are safe, settled, and well cared for after school. A full driving licence is essential for occasional school collections and extracurricular activities, while applicants with their own vehicle will be preferred; however, a family vehicle can be provided for the right candidate.
Working as a Housekeeper/Nanny in this household involves taking full responsibility for the presentation, organisation, and efficient management of the home while supporting the family with practical childcare and household tasks. Responsibilities include maintaining excellent housekeeping standards throughout the seven-bedroom property, managing laundry, ironing, wardrobe care, pantry organisation, stock control, accepting deliveries, liaising with maintenance contractors when required, and reporting maintenance issues to the principals. The successful candidate will also occasionally collect the children from school or activities, prepare nutritious dairy-free dinners, provide ad hoc babysitting by prior arrangement, and occasionally care for the family dog. Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper/Nanny:
- Taking full ownership of the day-to-day running of a seven-bedroom family home
- Maintaining high standards of daily housekeeping and scheduled deep cleaning
- Managing all family laundry, ironing, linen care, and wardrobe organisation
- Caring for wooden finishes and maintaining excellent household presentation
- Organising kitchen cupboards, pantry, storage areas, and household supplies
- Monitoring stock levels and replenishing household essentials as required
- Accepting deliveries, unpacking, organising, and putting items away
- Reporting maintenance issues and occasionally liaising with maintenance contractors
- Collecting the children from school and extracurricular activities when required
- Ensuring the children's safety, wellbeing, and after-school routines are maintained
- Preparing healthy dairy-free dinners for the children each evening
- Assisting the mother with children's meal preparation during school holidays
- Providing ad hoc babysitting by prior arrangement
- Occasionally feeding and walking the family's friendly medium-sized dog
- Working proactively, independently, and using initiative to ensure the household runs smoothly at all times
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper/Nanny:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- DBS Check
- Driving licence is essential
