PERMANENT FULL-TIME LIVE-OUT HOUSEKEEPER NANNY

Salary: £45,700–£47,800 Gross per Year, depending on experience
A welcoming private family of five in Bricket Wood, St Albans, Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced Housekeeper Nanny to join their household on a permanent, full-time, live-out basis from the end of September.
The primary focus of the position will be maintaining the family home to a high standard, with responsibility for general housekeeping, laundry, ironing, tidying and household organisation. The successful candidate will also provide after-school supervision for the family's three children, aged 5, 7 and 9, from approximately 4:00–4:30pm onwards. This will involve keeping an eye on the children, ensuring they complete their homework and providing a reassuring presence, rather than actively assisting with their schoolwork.
The family would ideally like someone who is warm and engaging with children, composed in their approach and adaptable to the needs of a busy family household. There are no other members of staff, so the successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the household and will have the opportunity to become a trusted and valued part of the family environment.
Occasional family-style cooking will also be required. The family enjoys straightforward, home-cooked meals, with no expectation for elaborate or highly specialised cuisine.

Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 12:00pm–8:00pm

Main Duties of the Housekeeper/Nanny:
- Maintain the household to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Carry out general cleaning duties including dusting, hoovering and tidying.
- Complete laundry and ironing.
- Maintain an organised and efficient household routine.
- Provide after-school supervision for three children aged 5, 7 and 9.
- Ensure the children are settled and appropriately supervised during the afternoon and early evening.
- Encourage the children to complete their homework and provide general oversight without undertaking their schoolwork.
- Prepare occasional, straightforward family-style meals.
- Assist with keeping the kitchen and family areas clean and organised.
- Work independently and take ownership of the household's day-to-day requirements.
- Build a positive, respectful and long-term working relationship with the family.
Requirements for this Housekeeper/Nanny job:
- Previous private household or professional housekeeping experience.
- Strong practical housekeeping skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Previous experience working around school-aged children.
- Adaptable approach and willingness to respond to the changing needs of a family household.
- Confident working independently
- Able to work independently and manage household duties efficiently.
- Willing to work on a self-employed basis.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Excellent checkable references.
