Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a lovely opportunity for a proactive, warm, and flexible Housekeeper/Nanny to join a friendly private family in Cambridge. The household comprises two adults and two children, aged eight and ten, and the family is looking for someone who can provide practical support across both housekeeping and childcare. The family already has a cleaner in place, creating a shared approach to household upkeep, and is seeking an additional trusted professional who can become a reliable part of their weekly routine. This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position with an initial schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, generally from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, with some flexibility around the working days and hours. During term time, the role will focus more on housekeeping and after-school support, while the school holidays will involve more nannying and taking the children on outings. The family can offer additional working hours for a Housekeeper/Nanny who would like to increase their schedule. The position requires a driving licence, with a manual family car provided for children’s activities. The school runs do not require a car as the school is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from the home.
Working as a Housekeeper/Nanny in this household involves combining practical household support with after-school care for two school-aged children. Housekeeping duties include general upkeep, laundry and ironing, keeping the home organised and tidy after the children, maintaining cupboards and pantries, managing deliveries, occasional grocery shopping, scheduled deep cleaning, bed making, and children’s wardrobe organisation. The role also includes school pick-ups, driving the children to their clubs, overseeing homework time, and preparing fresh family meals on working days. During school holidays, the nannying element becomes more prominent, with support for outings and activities. This is a varied position suited to a confident professional who enjoys combining housekeeping and childcare and can bring initiative, warmth, and flexibility to a busy family home.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper/Nanny:
- General housekeeping and daily upkeep, maintaining a clean, tidy, and organised home
- Keeping household areas tidy following the children’s daily activities
- Organising and cleaning cupboards, pantries, and household storage areas
- Cleaning and maintaining the refrigerator and checking household products
- Putting away household and grocery deliveries
- Occasional grocery shopping and household errands
- Scheduled deep cleaning as required
- Making beds and changing bed linen
- Managing and organising the children’s wardrobes and clothing
- Preparing fresh family-style meals on working days
- Collecting the children from school, located approximately three to five minutes’ walk from the home
- Driving the children to after-school clubs and activities using the family’s manual car
- Providing calm after-school supervision and ensuring homework is completed
- Taking the children on outings and providing additional nannying support during school holidays
- Supporting the children’s daily routines with a warm and attentive approach
- Working collaboratively with the family’s existing cleaner
- Taking initiative and adapting the balance of housekeeping and childcare according to the family’s needs
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Nanny:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Driving Licence is essential
- DBS Check
