A welcoming and warm private family based in one of Greater Glasgow’s most desirable residential areas is searching for an experienced part-time Housekeeper Nanny to provide dependable household and family support across approximately three to four afternoons per week.

The property is situated in an attractive and established residential neighbourhood, well regarded for its nature, excellent local amenities, and convenient connections to Glasgow. The residence itself is a spacious and well-maintained family home offering a comfortable working environment.

This is primarily a housekeeping and family-support position rather than a traditional nanny role. The family has three children, including teenagers, and is looking for an experienced all-rounder who can combine high-standard housekeeping with laundry and ironing, household organisation, family cooking, driving, and practical support surrounding the children’s schedules and activities.

The successful Housekeeper Nanny must be confident working independently, using initiative, and identifying the household priorities that require attention during each working day. Other established staff are also engaged, and the successful professional will work cooperatively alongside them while assisting the principal with practical household organisation, deliveries, and the children’s day-to-day routines as required.

Laundry and ironing will form an important part of the position. The family requires someone who can manage regular family laundry efficiently, care appropriately for garments and household linen, complete ironing to a good standard, and maintain everyday wardrobe organisation. Particular care will also be required around valuable furnishings, artwork, specialist household items, and delicate belongings.

The childcare element will predominantly involve supporting the family’s younger school-age children with their practical routines rather than nursery-style care. Responsibilities will include school or activity-related driving, helping the children remain organised, supporting extracurricular commitments, and developing a warm but appropriately professional relationship with them. The successful Housekeeper Nanny shall therefore be confident, calm, and comfortable working with older children and teenagers.

Cooking is also an important element of the position. The Housekeeper Nanny will assist with preparing straightforward, nutritious family meals and ensuring that food is ready around the household’s varying schedules. As some family members have a significant food allergies, the successful professional must be conscientious about ingredients, cross-contamination, kitchen hygiene, and following the family’s established food-preparation procedures.

A confident driver is essential, as the role involves transporting the children to school and extracurricular activities. This may include regular journeys connected with sporting and equestrian commitments. An automatic vehicle can be provided for work-related driving if the own vehicle is absent.

The family would appreciate reasonable flexibility during school holidays and around changing family commitments. On a small number of occasions each year, additional overnight or live-in support may be requested by prior agreement.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintaining the household to a consistently high standard of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation
Managing family laundry, ironing, household linen, and everyday wardrobe organisation
Decluttering, tidying, and proactively keeping frequently used household areas organised
Preparing straightforward, nutritious family meals while carefully observing food-allergy requirements
Driving the children to and from school, sports, appointments, and extracurricular activities
Providing practical, age-appropriate support to older children and teenagers with their routines and schedules
Keeping on top of the children’s belongings, activities, equipment, and day-to-day organisational requirements
Monitoring household supplies, assisting with occasional shopping, and organising food and refrigerator contents
Liaising appropriately with the existing staff, contractors, deliveries, and other household services
Caring carefully for quality furnishings, artwork, specialist items, garments, and personal belongings
Supporting the principal with the smooth day-to-day running of the household and identifying priorities independently
Providing occasional additional or overnight household and childcare support when the principals are away, by prior agreement

Minimum Requirements

At least five years’ professional experience within a private household as a Housekeeper-Nanny, Housekeeper, or comparable domestic all-rounder
Strong housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and household-organisation skills
Previous experience supporting school-age children and teenagers within a private family environment
Confident driving skills and a clean, valid UK driving licence
Competent family cooking skills and confidence following strict food-allergy procedures
Excellent attention to detail and confidence caring for quality furnishings, garments, and personal belongings
A proactive, organised approach and the ability to identify and prioritise household requirements independently
A calm, confident, and adaptable manner, with the ability to work constructively with teenagers and existing household staff
Excellent reliability, punctuality, discretion, communication skills, and receptiveness to feedback
Valid UK right to work, strong checkable references, and a current DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one
