Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for an experienced and organised housekeeper to join the home of a lovely elderly lady residing in a spacious two-storey house in the peaceful village of Gelligaer, Caerphilly, Wales. Surrounded by beautiful countryside yet within convenient reach of nearby towns and excellent road connections, Gelligaer offers a tranquil working environment whilst remaining accessible for local commuters. The principal is an elderly lady living with dementia and her much-loved cat. The family is seeking a housekeeper with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to bring structure and reliability to the smooth day-to-day running of the household.
Working as a housekeeper in this private home provides an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the daily life of the principal by maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised environment. This role extends beyond traditional housekeeping duties and includes light household administration, coordinating contractors and carers, organising grocery deliveries, checking household supplies, collecting prescriptions, and ensuring the home continues to operate efficiently. The successful candidate will be pro-active, trustworthy, compassionate, and capable of working independently whilst communicating effectively with family members and external service providers. Although the principal receives care from professional carers, the housekeeper will play an important supporting role in ensuring the household remains well-organised and comfortable.

This is a live-out position located within reasonable commuting distance of surrounding areas. The principals are happy to offer flexibility with both working days and hours wherever possible, making this an attractive opportunity for candidates seeking part-time employment that can fit around existing commitments.
Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Coordinating carers and other contractors visiting the property.
- Liaising with external contractors for household maintenance when required.
- Maintaining the home to an excellent standard of cleanliness and organisation.
- Performing general housekeeping duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising all household areas.
- Washing, drying, folding, and organising laundry.
- Emptying household bins and maintaining a hygienic living environment.
- Monitoring the refrigerator and pantry, removing expired food items, and helping to maintain household organisation.
- Ordering groceries and household supplies as required.
- Collecting prescriptions and completing occasional household errands.
- Feeding and providing basic daily care for the family's cat.
- Checking and organising incoming post and household correspondence.
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day administration of the household.
- Demonstrating initiative, reliability, discretion, and excellent organisational skills at all times.
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:
- Three or more years of private housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- UK working permit
