Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a wonderful opportunity for a professional, hardworking, and highly organised Spanish speaking Housekeeper to join a welcoming private household located in the beautiful coastal town of Salou, Catalonia, Spain. The household comprises one adult principal, two young children aged 5 and 7 who live at home full-time, with other family members visiting occasionally throughout the year. The family is preparing to move into a new home and is looking for a positive, detail-oriented Housekeeper who enjoys maintaining an organised, well-presented household and can become a trusted part of the family's daily life. Salou is renowned for its beautiful Mediterranean coastline, relaxed lifestyle, and excellent year-round climate, making it an attractive location for professionals seeking a rewarding position in Spain.
This is a permanent, full-time position, initially offered for the school year with the possibility of extension thereafter. The schedule consists of Monday to Friday, approximately 40 hours per week, with additional hours available should the successful Housekeeper wish to undertake them. Working as a Housekeeper within this household involves maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness and organisation while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the home. The role includes housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and occasional assistance in the kitchen with simple meal preparation under the principal's guidance. The family values a professional with previous private household experience, a positive attitude, and an excellent eye for detail. This position is offered on a self-employed basis.
Working as a Housekeeper in this household involves creating a comfortable, clean, and well-organised environment while supporting the family with a variety of practical daily tasks. Responsibilities include general housekeeping, scheduled deeper cleaning when required, laundry and linen care, and maintaining delicate household surfaces with appropriate care. There may also be occasional babysitting support for the two younger children when the principal is unavailable, together with simple kitchen assistance and helping ensure the home continues to run smoothly. Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining the home to a consistently high standard of cleanliness and presentation
- General daily housekeeping together with scheduled deeper cleaning as required
- Laundry, ironing, linen care, folding and putting things tidily away
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Organising cupboards, wardrobes, and household storage areas
- Caring for delicate household surfaces using appropriate cleaning methods
- Assisting the principal with simple meal preparation and basic kitchen support
- Keeping the kitchen clean, tidy, and well organised throughout the day
- Reporting maintenance issues to the principal when required
- Providing occasional babysitting support for the younger children when needed
- Working around the family's three dogs in a comfortable and pet-friendly manner
- Maintaining a positive, proactive, and organised approach while supporting the smooth daily running of the household
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of Spanish
- Legal right to work in the EU
- Criminal Record Check
