Job Overview:
Perfect Household Staff are pleased to present a wonderful opportunity within a warm and welcoming household situated in the heart of picturesque Jersey. This family home is non-formal and relaxed, yet refined in style, offering an elegant environment where smart attire is preferred, though no uniform is required. The residence is a spacious two-floor property, comprising five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and three inviting living areas. The family plan to relocate to another home early next year, and suitable accommodation will be provided once the move has been completed. In the interim, the successful candidate will need to arrange private lodgings locally until the transition is finalised.
The family consists of parents, their children, and a dedicated nanny, together with a gentle red retriever and a magnificent giant Maine Coon cat. The position requires a candidate who is naturally good with children, ideally holding a basic childcare qualification, as they will be asked to support the nanny when she is not available for any reason, including covering two weekends per month. During these periods, the successful applicant will also take responsibility for pet care, including walking the dog once daily at weekends for at least forty minutes, as well as overseeing the animals’ needs when the nanny is away.
The household values organisation and efficiency, and the role will encompass the full spectrum of housekeeping responsibilities, including general cleaning, laundry, ironing, and changing beds on a weekly basis. Children’s laundry will fall within the candidate’s remit, as well as occasional support in the kitchen: although the nanny handles cooking duties during the week, the candidate will be asked to prepare simple family meals from time to time. Driving is essential, as the position involves school runs, family errands, and taking the dog for outings by car. An electric vehicle will be provided for professional use.
The role is offered on a four-day working schedule (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) in addition to two weekends per month, with family mealtimes on Sundays forming part of the household routine instead of entertainment, and the candidate’s assistance may be required during the weekends when they are on duty. The placement is due to commence on 4th November, with the aim of appointing the right candidate before Christmas for a long-term commitment. The contract will be directly with the client, who will process wages and taxes. Please note that a pension is not included. Annual leave and holidays will be provided, and occasional international travel may be required.

Main duties of the Full Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining the household to a high standard through general cleaning, laundry, ironing, and weekly bed changes.
- Preparing simple family meals as required to support the household’s kitchen needs.
- Assisting with childcare, supporting the nanny during absences, and covering two weekends per month.
- Caring for household pets, including walking the dog at weekends and attending to the welfare of all animals in the nanny’s absence.
- Managing school runs, family errands, and outings with the provided electric vehicle.
- Organising the home efficiently, ensuring cleanliness, order, and presentation throughout.

Requirements for The Full-Time Housekeeper job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within private households
- Excellent and verifiable references from previous employers
- Right to work in the UK and eligibility to work in Jersey (local registration card/employment status will be required)
- Up-to-date DBS
- Good command of English, both spoken and written
